Tuberculosis (TB)

Global Tuberculosis Control

Tuberculosis claims 2 million lives each year and is the leading cause of death among people living with HIV infection. Drug resistance threatens recent progress in controlling TB. Our faculty has assisted in revising treatment recommendations following new WHO requirements for evidence-based guidelines. We also have provided consultation to countries on program assessment, epidemiology, strategic planning, and Global Fund applications. Other TB expertise among our faculty includes programmatic management of drug resistant TB, infection control, HIV-associated TB, and engaging providers outside the national TB program.
