Valley Fever

Valley Fever Vaccine Project

Valley Fever is an orphan disease that is endemic to areas of the desert southwest, primarily Arizona, California, and northern Mexico. Incidence has increased markedly since the mid 1990s. Severity ranges from mild respiratory symptoms to progressive, possibly fatal, systemic infection. Project investigators have discovered a number of recombinant antigens and are working to identify appropriate formulations and adjuvant or antigen presenting systems as the next stage in finding a possible clinical candidate.
