Complex Humanitarian Emergency Simulation Exercise
8AM October 3 to early evening October 4
Anthony Chabot Campground, Oakland, California
UCSF Global Health Sciences will simulate a humanitarian crisis in an exciting weekend-long educational exercise at a state park in the east bay, and we need your help!
The exercise will be enacted so that participants can learn some of the skills and concepts needed in complex humanitarian emergencies. Every effort is made to create a realistic environment for the participants. We are looking for volunteers to provide hands-on assistance during the weekend itself doing various activities.
For those interested in helping out at the simulation itself, we can use your help beginning 8:00am Saturday, October 3 through early evening Sunday, October 4. Whether you are able to help out with a morning shift, afternoon shift, or are able to give your time for the weekend, any volunteer is much appreciated!
We will need people to:
- Play roles (ranging from refugees to government officials)
- Help with set-up, clean-up and event logistics
- Advise and direct the students
Are you able to help? Should you know of anyone who may also be interested in helping out, please send along their names and we will make sure to reach out to them. Please reply to Tessa Napoles by September 8th to let us know of your interest and availability to assist us with this unique event.
