About Us The Prevention and Public Health Group (PPHG), formerly known as the Institute for Global Health (IGH), was established in 1999 to serve as a dynamic, collaborative nexus of applied global health research. Professor Richard Feachem was IGH's Founding Director. Since that time, working closely with such key entities as the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Global AIDS Plan (CDC-GAP), and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, IGH's multidisciplinary faculty have led innovative, highly-effective programs in dozens of less-wealthy countries. PPHG's Director is George W. Rutherford, M.D. He is also Head, Division of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, and Salvatore Pablo Lucia Professor of Preventive Medicine at University of California, San Francisco. Contact: |
