International Traineeships in AIDS Prevention Studies (I-TAPS)
In collaboration with the Fogarty International AIDS Training Program of the University of California at Berkeley, we have sponsored an International Traineeship in AIDS Prevention Studies (I-TAPS) Program since 1988. Up to ten applicants are selected each year to work with IGH and Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) scientists in San Francisco. During the 10-week program, each Visiting Scientist develops a protocol for a specific research project with relevance to AIDS prevention to be carried out in his or her own country.

Workshops

Writing Workshops

IGH offers in-country scientific writing workshops to assist individuals in completing scientific manuscripts that utilize local data and submitting them for publication. The workshops are offered to institutions or groups of individuals who have collected data from HIV prevention-related research studies, DHS or BSS, or triangulation activities. IGH faculty and staff provide mentorship to local trainees both during and after the workshop and offer assistance with data cleaning and analysis. To date, IGH has conducted the workshop in Brazil, Croatia, India, Thailand, and Uganda.
